By the time you read this, I will be in the air flying towards Greece (or already in Greece). The time has come for my annual pilgrimage to Greece, the country where my parents were born and the nation and ideal that I cherish each and every day.
The past year was not a good year for Greece but the people have a wicked sense of humour, a passion for a better tomorrow and a zest for life unequaled. Greece is feeling the pinch like in most of the world but they will work through it.
I’ll be away until mid-September but I have post-dated some entries for those still looking to be “fed well”. I also encourage you to visit one of the many Greek food friends I have linked to my site and beyond Greek food are the other food friends listed in the blog.
I will on occasion be giving updates in Twitter and through Facebook. Links to both those sites (and myself) are found on the right column.
I wish all of you a safe, restful summer and may you return with added pep in your step, refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to take on work, family and the other responsibliities life serves us.
See you next month with more stories, more food, more photos and all the passion that can fit on a plate!

I am very jealous that you’ll be in Greece! I haven’t been since I was a baby, and unfortunately, I have a job that doesn’t really allow for lots of time off! I’m hoping that w/ my anniversary this year, the extra vacation days I’ll get can get me at least 2 weeks in Greece!
